I am preparing to retire my old SBS 2008 server, which is running TekRADIUS LT 4.9.2.0. I just downloaded and installed the latest 5.2.0.2 on Server 2012 R2. The manager starts but immediately freezes immediately with an almost-blank window. I can't start the service, it starts and then stops. I can open TekRADIUSLT.db3 in SQLite Browser, but not TekRADIUS.db (invalid file format). I compared the new .INI file with the old and there are so many differences I didn't want to mess with them. The event log says the service cannot be started.

Hi,

You need to re enter RADIUS client definitions in this new version. Please enter them and try to start TekRADIUS service again.

Sorry, I do not understand. Since I cannot run the manager, all I can do is change the .ini file or the service parameters. I do not see any client definitions in them.

Can you start TekRADIUS Manager with a blank database?

Thought I replied to this, but apparently not. No. I have made no attempt to transfer the old database. I deleted TekRADIUS.db, started the manager, it created a new TekRADIUS.db, and froze.

Hi,

You need to delete TekRADIUS.db3 file to start with a blank database. TekRADIUS.db hold RADIUS dictionary entries.

Hi dear yasin

I have the exact same problem. Every time i run the manager i end up with a frozen screen. I do evey thing you sayed above but still the same. (Also install dot net framework 4.6.2) Please help me out.

The latest one TekRADUS LT 5.3.2 and my os is windows server 2012 r2

Can you start TekRADIUS service manually through Control Panel / Services? Do you observe any TekRADIUS related error in Windows Event Log / Application?

The error messge is normal. TekRADIUS service will not start since you have no client entry in the database.

Please make a backup of existing TRMAnagerLT.exe and replace existing one with https://www.kaplansoft.com/tekradius/release/TRManagerLT.zip

TekRADIUS Manager will display a series of dialog boxes when you launch it. Please send me the latest message prior to freezing.

i do as you said. and the last dialog box is "check 2" but the thing is the manager wont freeze and run perfectly with this new file.

Have you enabled DHCP server of TekRADIUS?
