Hi all,

What kind of NAS devices and authentication protocols do you use with TekRADIUS?

I am using two Ascend Max 6000 with TekRadius.

It seems to work well, other than I had to update several of the dictionary entries with codes for the Ascend dictionary.

TekRADIUS has Ascend dictionary. Can you give some examples for missing or faulty entries?

Yes all the Discconect-Cause codes where not in there so I added them. I can send you a copy of my mdb if you want and you can export them to a master to include with the software.

I will be adding others as I find ones that are missing.

In the ascend dictionary the ones that are missing are item 195 all the codes under it are blank.

Is there a way to attach it here or should I email it to you?

In case you didnt make the connection, I am the one inquiring about the commercial version.

My boss should be contacting you today about the purchase.

Hi,

Although TekRADIUS has not Nomadix dictionary entries by default you can add them manually. I've not tested but it should work.

Hi,

You can add users with Time-Quota to TekRADIUS. If you choose to not encrypt user password, you can import users to "Users" table
of TekRADIUS database. Add a couple of users to TekRADIUS database using TekRADIUS MAnager and browse them using SQL Enterprise
Manager to have an idea.

Yasin,

Hi,

Using TekRADIUS Manager,

Click left bottom "User : " text box on Users tab. Enter "user1" then click "Add" button.
Add User-Password attribute as a check attrbiute with value "1234"
Add User-Credit attribute as a check attrbiute with value "60"

Please be sure that you've enabled RADIUS accounting on TekRADIUS as well as on your access server.

HI again,

sorry for all the silly questions but I am new to Radius stuff..anyhow, I need to create 3 types of groups, group1=1hour , group2=1day, group3=1week. how do assign a value to these groups? also, if create these groups as mentioned above, can just assign the users to different groups and they only get the assigned time limit?
Thanks again.

Hi,

You can define common attributes for users in group profiles including User-Password.
But you have to define User-Credit attrbiute in every user's individual profile.

Hi,
Okay I see... well let me just tell you what I need to do; I have a nomadix ag3100. I need to have it connect to radius server. then I need to import about 2000 users (pre-printed scratch cards with different plans) into this radius server every couple of months or so. do you have any ideas on how I can go about doing that? I am open to anything.

thanks again

Hi,

You need to etiher import user cards as TekRADIUS user profiles manually or you can follow instructions on:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321686
Add a couple of user accounts to have an idea how TekRADIUS stores user profiles in its SQL database.
